We try very hard to make things as comfortable as possible during your stay at Hafod yr Haidd, but if after looking at what's on offer, you feel we need to include something specifically for your stay, pleas let us know by contacting us here.

*     All guest who stay at Hafod yr Haidd are offered a full range of breakfasts. Whether you want a full Welsh breakfast, or a breakfast more suited to your personal needs we can accommodate your requirements. For a sample of our breakfast menu click here.

*     Hafod yr Haidd is situated in a tranquil, secluded and private position. It is approached via its own private road and is approximately 1/2 mile from the public road. In the immediate vicinity you have plenty of woods, streams and other scenic routes you can take for walks.

*    In the summer there is a garden terrace for guests to use. With stunning views overlooking the countryside in Wales, it is probably one of the nicest places in the whole of the UK to sit and enjoy some afternoon tea, sandwiches and homemade Bara Brith, smothered in local Welsh organic butter if you like; all of which can be bought locally.

*    After a long and pleasant day's walking, rafting, canoeing or cycling perhaps, you can rest assured that you will be guaranteed a restful night's stay in our newly refurbished bedrooms. All the bedrooms have pleasant views.

*     Our double bedroom is very comfortable and features a large corner bath for you to take a long soak. Also, the bedroom offers wonderful views of the lake and mountains. We love to welcome newlyweds, it gives us another reason to celebrate and enjoy the day; not that we need much coaxing.

*    Whenever you just want to be lazy, or maybe you want to read the newspaper before you set off on your jaunt you are invited and encouraged to take it easy, put your feet up in the lounge or conservatory.

*     During the colder times of the year, a fully controllable central heating system welcomes you on your arrival or return form your days out in chilly weather.

*    Whilst we welcome everybody, we know from past experience that walkers, cyclists, white water rafters and canoeists sometimes feel very uncomfortable about bring their hobby to somebody elses home. You are not to worry as you are made as welcome as the next person. In fact, some of our most memorable summer evenings have been in the company of such wonderful visitors.

*    If you decide to come to Snowdonia to enjoy the hobby you persue, you will rest easy at night knowing that we have a secure canoe and cycle storage area. Of course, it's not restricted to canoeists or cyclists, we could include hang gliders, windsurfers, and lots of other activity-featured sports equipment. We have even had the odd motorcyclist insisting their bikes be stored in the garage in case it rains overnight.

*     Hafod yr Haidd is ideally situated and convenient for touring Snowdonia, North and Mid-Wales. Not only does it provide for a wonderful holiday or weekend break, it is quite central to a sizable geographical area. Betws-y-Coed and the Swallow Falls are a beautiful one-hour drive away as indeed are Aberystwith, Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsular.

*     Most of the visitors we have, usually opt for self catering when staying with us; occasionally, most holiday makers may decided to eat out. We can offer you 'inside information' as to where the best places are.

*     We believe the one thing that shouts LUXURY is a comfortable bedding, and that is exactly the reason we use them in the visitor bedrooms. Of course they come with the matching quality pillows also. Of course, you don't need to worry if you are an asthma or allergy sufferer, as we provide the synthetic fabric bed coverings especially for you. We have them avaialble as a matter course for fellow sufferers. We know what its like to lose a night's sleep because of the wrong duvet being supplied. Simply let us know of your requirements at the time of booking.

*     We do hope you will come and see us outside of the summer season, it is so beautiful and you really should see the autumn colours or snow-dusted winter peaks; it is such a treat. If you do, we promise to take care of you, and to make sure you are kept snug and warm, each of our rooms come with central heating radiators.

*     In addition to our weekly rates we have very attractive rates for those looking for a weekend break or perhaps a long weekend break (usually defined as Friday through to Sunday). *   Bala isn't far away and is very fortunate to have the White Water Rafting Centre nearby. It is a fabulous facility and is used not only as the rafting centre, it is has hosted the World Canoe Slalom Championships in the past. We have people come from all over the world to use the facility and quite recently, the team from Manchester United came to use it as part of their bonding and team building exercises. The town's youngsters, not to mention the grown men and most of the young girls were excited when the team came, especially when they stayed and had lunch at one of the local restaurants.

*  You may decide that you want to leave the car at home (Hafod yr Haidd) so that you can have a night on the town or to enjoy a relaxing meal with a couple of drinks. That being the case, all you have to do is let us know of your intended plans and we can arrange for a local cab company to take care of your travel arrangements. They will also accommodate you for the return trip whenever required. The local cab companies know where we live so they can deliver you safely.
