Snowdonia...A Place For All Seasons!

Many visitors, when staying in the summer, often ask us what it's like in the spring, autumn and
winter.
We have to be honest and say that each season brings its own unique beauty. In fact, we do have certain guests who
only come at particular times of the year according to their preferences.
Some guests love to come in the spring, when everything feels fresh and new. The trees and flowers are about to
bloom or indeed, are in full bloom when the display of their embryonic colour is breathtaking. The lambs in the
fields are bountiful and 'prancing and dancing' is an indication of their 'new innocence'; it is a sight to behold. Many visitors,
after spending a long period at home during the winter months, can't wait to experience the newness that this time of year never fails
to deliver on.
Summer is an extremely busy time for us, and we never expect anything different. This year, 2006 we had a beautifully
hot period (one of the hottest days on record) and many of our guests fled to the beaches at Barmouth, Aberdovey and
other coastal resorts. One particlar guest, arrived back at the house in the early evening, after having spent the day on the beach at
Aberdovey and he was mesmerised by the quality of the beach and the water. Of course, most of the beaches throughout Wales achieve the
recognised 'blue flag' standard of the European Union. For further information on the beaches of Wales click here

Autumn is for those who love to wrap up and go for long walks on the beach, through the forests or up the mountains.
But be careful,if you are not an experienced walker, as all areas change their characteristics during this post-summer period and inexperience is
a costly price to pay if you go out unprepared. Once you are equipped, then the peacefulness on offer at the beach,
in the forests or up the mountains is priceless. There is nothing more lovely than finishing a long walk with a visit to a tea of coffee shop to
unwind with a warming drink and plenty of homemade bara-brith. If you are not the active type then why not take a drive
through the magnificent country and see the splendour of the spectacular changing colours of the leaves on the trees.
Both John and I can give you some terrific routes to take and we will even pack a lunch and flask of tea/coffee if that's what you'd like. Autumn
is a time to sit back and reflect on your busy summer period and prepare for the onslaught of Christmas.
Winter can be a long and depressing time for most of us; that's why we have quite a number of guest who like to break
it up with a short holiday in the colder months. Obviously, the days are not as long as they are in the summer but there
is plenty to do nevertheless. These quieter months offer you the opportunity to see things differently. Many of the
toursit attractions have fewer visitors and so it can be more relaxing for the intrepid explorers of the Snowdonia National Park in the winter
season. Also, you will find that there are savings to be made as many hoteliers and bed and breakfast establishments
offer reduced prices to their guests during this less busy time of the year. Of course, Christmas and New Year will always be priced outside of
the special offer tariffs for obvious reasons. Click here to see our special offers.
