Hello, or Croeso as we say here in Wales, and welcome to our home in the heart of the Welsh countryside, located in the southern part of the Snowdonia National Park. 

We have been offering Bed and Breakfast to the public since the early '70's when we had an avalanche of curious visitors from all over the UK and some 'world travellers' from further afield. At that time there were more tourists than there were B&B places for them to stay. John and I were young when we decided to open our home, Hafod Yr Haidd to visitors wanting to see the Snowdonia National Park here in North Wales.

Since that time, there have been lots of them, and we have made some great friends along the way.

In fact, we still have some of our original friends who return to see us from those early days. We love it when we see them.

Sometimes we wonder what it must be like to live in a busy city,  for we've lived nowhere, other than this beautiful serene part of Wales, which we are proud to call our home.

Other times, we count our blessings that we live in Bala, we'd hate to be subjected to the horrific endless traffic jams we see on the news and weather report channels, or the road rage that some people have to endure in their day to day lives.

We like to think of our home as an inviting, friendly and relaxing place; not at all pretentious . It is situated, just minutes from the town of Bala, and the views from the house are some of the best in the British Isles. We offer a warm welcome to each and every one of our B & B visitors.

We are certain you will you reap the benefits that a visit to Wales has to offer when you stay and experience the peace and tranquillity of the Snowdonia National Park. There are many places of interest and lots of exciting and challenging activities available in the region.

We are well positioned, being just 5 miles from the market town of Bala, and the many attractions of the Snowdonia National Park are within easy travelling distance:- Bala Lake, on our doorstep; Snowdon, the highest mountain in England or Wales; the great castles of Caernarfon, Criccieth, Harlech and Conwy and the magnificent beaches of Cardigan Bay, the Llyn Peninsualar, the North Wales Coast and the island of Anglesey.

Bala, being our nearest shopping facility, is a few minutes minutes drive away from Hafod-Yr-Haidd, and is an attractive and lively historic market town within the boundaries of Snowdonia National Park (officially designated an area of outstanding natural beauty ).

If you do decide to come and visit us, make sure you ask either one of us about the eating places available in and around the area. It offers everything from snack bars to gourmet restaurants, some of which you may not experience if you don't know how to find them. If there is something specific that you need, John and I are here to point you in the right direction.
